There is no longer scheduled air service between Cancun and Cozumel. If you fly to Cancun you can take a taxi, bus or private van from the Cancun airport to Playa del Carmen (about 50 minutes south of Cancun), then the ferry across the Yucatan Channel (12 miles) from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel and either walk (15 minutes) or take a taxi to Casa Phoenix.. The ferry ride takes about 35 minutes and runs almost hourly during the day and early evening. Ask the charter companies for airfare-only tickets. If this is not available, compare the rates between regularly scheduled commercial airlines and the charter rate -- it may be cheaper even with the package they offer.
